Training & Experience
I am a Nationally Certified, State (Oregon)-Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 17 years of post-graduate experience, in both private practice and social service agency settings, and I have a Masters degree in Counseling from Portland State University.
An M.S. is a Master of Science degree from an accredited university. LPC refers to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, a credential that is earned through providing a minimum of 2400 hours of supervised client contact hours over the equivalent of 3 years of post-graduate experience. This experience is in combination with successfully passing the National Board Of Certified Counselors (NBCC) licensing exam, plus ongoing continuing education requirements.
Additionally, all Oregon LPCs are bound by the laws and rules of the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors & Therapists.
