About Me
I know how hard and overwhelming it can seem to try to make positive change in your life, especially if you're depressed. I also know that it's possible to break old patterns that don't work, but that you keep repeating anyway.
I teach people an individualized process to do just that. Many practitioners of specialized techniques offer a "one size fits all" approach to therapy; I've found that people are simply too complex and unique for any single technique or modality to be effective for everyone. And each person may require different things from treatment from session to session, over the course of the counseling. All of which is to say, it doesn't do to get too locked in to any particular modality, because chances are, we won't be there all that long.
My way of working is to take the time to learn about you and your life, then construct an individually tailored therapeutic program that addresses your unique personality and needs, always within a respectful and supportive therapeutic environment. However, if challenging self-defeating patterns is necessary, firm, caring boundary setting is within my repertoire as well. I'm dedicated to ensuring that my clients get better, which may at times mean that some temporary discomfort is part of the process of change—like beginning an exercise program and getting sore muscles at first.
