Online Counseling
Is Online Counseling Right For Me?
How can you know if online counseling is for you? Really, you're the only one who can come to that conclusion. I would say that if you can find a local practitioner that you click with, and can easily access when you need the help, then meeting in-person is the way to go. There's just nothing better than being in the room together, for the client and for the therapist.
That being said, there are many circumstances that can create barriers to getting the care you need. Those include geographic isolation, an insanely busy life/schedule that simply doesn't allow you to squeeze out an hour meeting plus travel time to and from the appointment, a job that requires lots of travel, or simply being too overwhelmed or overloaded to take the time to try counselor after counselor in order to find the one that's a good fit for you, like a series of bad dates. That's why I offer my Try Before You Leap mini-session, so at least if I'm not for you, you haven't wasted much in the way of time or resources.
